ULULE AND CAMPAIGN EXTENSION Thanks to our many generous donors, we have reached the target for covering filming and travel raw costs, and we cannot thank them enough. The Ulule team informed us a few days before the end of the campaign that it was possible to extend it! We have therefore decided to keep it open until the film’s release, as the new funding targets will be used to cover our remuneration as producers, directors and editors for the long months of post-production work that lie ahead. So it is not too late to support us. But why should you? For the past three years, we have been investing our own money, energy and heart into producing inspiring, positive documentaries and sharing them for free on YouTube. It is our passion and also our profession. In our day-to-day lives, we readily rent a film for €5 on a streaming platform without really giving it a second thought. But before it reaches a screen, a documentary requires hundreds of hours of work, filming and human investment. We often hesitate to donate ‘just’ €1, €2 or €5. We tell ourselves it is too little, that it will not make any difference. But the truth is? It is the number of supporters that keeps independent cinema alive. Supporting our Ulule campaign – even with the equivalent of a cup of coffee – sends a strong message: yes, we want independent, authentic, human cinema that lifts the spirits.
