Hello and welcome to EPOS News, our monthly newsletter packed with the latest events, courses and insights from the European Paediatric Orthopaedic Society.

As we step into the New Year, I would like to reflect on what has been a truly successful and inspiring 2025 for our society. We experienced sold-out educational courses across our programme and an exceptional Annual Congress in Toulouse, which highlighted the strength, engagement, and scientific excellence of the EPOS community.

Looking ahead, we are equally excited about the year to come. An ambitious and diverse educational programme awaits, with our upcoming courses outlined in detail further in this newsletter, and we are already very much looking forward to welcoming you to our Annual Congress in Seville.

You will also notice an expanded and refreshed format of the EPOS newsletter in the months ahead, offering broader coverage of EPOS activities, initiatives, and achievements, and strengthening our connection with you throughout the year.

News

2026 Fellows announced

It's our pleasure to announce that Dr. Madeleine Willegger (Austria), Dr. Tristan Langlais (France) and Dr. Gergő Józsa (Hungary) have been selected for the prestigious 2026 EPOS-SLAOTI Travelling Fellowships. Congratulations!

The fellows will head to South America in September, where they will be visiting SLAOTI host institutions in São Paulo, Panama City, and Guatemala City.

A sneak preview of EPOS 2026

EPOS 2026: Early Bird ending soon

A joint meeting with Asia-Pacific Paediatric Orthopaedic Society (APPOS), EPOS 2026 promises to be an exciting and inspiring event, bringing together the best of our specialty for three days of learning, exchange, and connection.

The scientific programme is packed with fresh insights, expert discussions, and opportunities to engage with colleagues from across the globe.

Advanced Course: Paediatric Bone & Joint Infection

This comprehensive course covers the pathology, diagnosis and treatment of bone and joint infections in children.

Experts from the EBJIS , ESPID and EPOS will share their insights and expertise during theoretical lectures, case discussions and engaging workshops.

Course Trilogy – Part II: Paediatric Trauma

🗓️ 11–13 March 2026
📍 Vienna, Austria

This course aims to deepen your understanding of the diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal trauma conditions in children.

The faculty includes internationally renowned experts in paediatric orthopaedics from all over Europe, who will provide theoretical lectures, engage in debates, share pearls on techniques in paediatric trauma and dynamise case discussions.

Advanced Course: Paediatric Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery

🗓️ 25–26 June 2026
📍 Helsinki, Finland

The aim of this course is to present the broad spectrum of paediatric hand and upper extremity surgery in all its aspects.

This includes theoretical lectures, workshops, a tips and tricks session in paediatric hand and case discussions on relevant topics including congenital malformations, trauma, posttraumatic conditions, syndromes, neuromuscular conditions (CP, BPBI) and many more.
