All things come from you and of your own do we give you
1 Chronicles 29.14
Dear La Côte Church friends and family,
Following our Gift Day and our Thanksgiving service, we are thinking with gratitude of the many people and groups involved in the life of our church.
Our Church Council are pleased to be able to present short profiles of members of our congregation over the coming days, which we hope you will enjoy and find inspiring. Thank you to all who have contributed!
1. Please give your name & role Chris Talbot - Tuesday Bible Study group at la Côte Church
2. How long have you been attending La Côte For almost ten years
3. How long have you been in this group Since September 2024
4. What does belonging to this group involve Betty and I host the group, once a fortnight. I send out reminder emails to the members. I set up the table and chairs, prepare coffee and tea and wash up. Normally, I prepare answers to study questions. The past few sessions, I have been leading our studies, on the book of Philemon, part of a series on short books of the New Testament.
5. How much time does this group take each week/ month At present, the preparation of the studies is taking several hours per fortnight. Normally it is a matter of two and a half hours per fortnight.
6. What do you find fulfilling about this group Everybody comes keen to learn together by sharing insights into the passage or theme. There is great interest in understanding the Bible and working through its meanings. Doing that together seems to enhance the study experience. And praying for one another deepens the bonds of friendship.
7. Finally, could you share a resource that you find encouraging or helpful in your Christian life? A very helpful book for understanding the Bible as a whole is How to Read the Bible for All its Worth, by Gordon Fee and Douglas Stuart, published by Scripture Union.
We would like to express our deep gratitude to so many of you who contribute to the mission of our church with your generous gifts of time, talents, and financial support. This gift day forms a vital part of our finances. If you can contribute with an extra gift, here are the details of the church bank account:

If you would like to discuss regular giving, please contact Mark Warren.
Thank you very much for your kind contributions.
Finally, please take a moment to reflect on how fortunate we are to have all the positive things that our church life provides and to offer a prayer of thanksgiving.
