All things come from you and of your own do we give you

1 Chronicles 29.14

Dear La Côte Church friends and family,

As we head towards Gift Day and our Thanksgiving service at Crassier at 16.00 on 15 June, we are thinking with gratitude of the many people and groups involved in the life of our church.

Our Church Council are pleased to be able to present short profiles of members of our congregation over the coming days, which we hope you will enjoy and find inspiring. Thank you to all who have contributed!

Lorraine Pichard - Prayer & Bible Study group

My name is Lorraine Pichard. I have been attending La Côte church since the fall of 2006.

In June of 2020 I asked my dog-walking friends, Sabine Shabetai and Machteld Kelsey, (sadly departed), to pray with their prayer group for the mother of my grandsons. They did. Their prayers were heard and she was cured. So I joined the prayer team at La Côte, June 30 of 2020.

It is a privilege to meet in the Traceys’ home, share a coffee and catch up, especially with our concerns for ourselves and others, in our La Côte congregation Gingins, Divonne and beyond.

This is an opportunity to get to know each other. We begin with the Celtic Morning Prayer, including reading a psalm, Old Testament scripture and New Testament scripture and a Daily reading for inspiration. We discuss this together. Then we pray together, Peta leading us.

We start at 9:30 ending at 10.30 on Tuesday mornings every second week.

It is fulfilling to feel the sincerity, or should I say, love, of the members of this group.

When I want to understand a Bible passage, I refer to: The Bible Project, https://bibleproject.com/
There is a sketch of the passage carried out, while the narrator is speaking. Informative and amusing.

The Lord is close to all who call on Him, yes to all who call to Him in truth. Psalm 145:18

We would like to express our deep gratitude to so many of you who contribute to the mission of our church with your generous gifts of time, talents, and financial support.
This gift day forms a vital part of our finances. If you can contribute with an extra gift, here are the details of the church bank account:

If you would like to discuss regular giving, please contact Mark Warren.

Thank you very much for your kind contributions.

Finally, please take a moment to reflect on how fortunate we are to have all the positive things that our church life provides and to offer a prayer of thanksgiving.

From Jessica Chapman (La Côte Church Council member)
