WEEKLY BULLETIN

Psalm 96:11-13 "let all the trees of the forest sing for joy" (Photlo:Unsplash)

Dear La Côte Church family and friends,

The Feast of Creation in Christ encourages Christians to give thanks for the environment, see the world as God's sacred gift, and renew their commitment to caring for creation.

Psalm 96:11-13 paints a vision of all creation praising God: “Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad ... let all the trees of the forest sing for joy.”  Yet today creation faces a triple planetary crisis of climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution. These are not only environmental challenges but also Christian concerns, calling us to live out God's command to “work” and “take care of” the earth entrusted to us.

Creation care is an expression of Christian discipleship, worship, and love of neighbours. The Fifth Mark of Mission calls us “to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth.”  Our Bronze Eco Church Award is an important beginning, but the deeper challenge is to make creation care part of everyday life.

As Archbishop Desmond Tutu reminded us, “Do your little bit of good where you are; it's those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.” Through simple actions, from reducing waste to protecting and planting trees, we join God's work of creation, healing, and restoration.

An Evening of Creation Care

Weds 9 September 19.30 Divonne

As we celebrate the Season of Creation and our Eco Church Bronze Award, this evening gives us an opportunity to look at where we are now and where God may be calling us next. We will spend time exploring the Eco Church survey questions, identifying where we are already doing well and where we might do more, try new things and think differently as we continue our journey towards the Silver Award.

Together, we’ll explore how creation care can become integral to who we are as a church — shaping our worship, discipleship, choices and engagement with our community.

Let’s celebrate how far we’ve come, be inspired by what’s possible, and discover the next steps we can take together.

If you are likely to join us please let Sarah French know.
