   Dear Members,
Every year, the month of July is marked by the extraordinary performances of the finest riders in the men's and women's pelotons competing on the roads of France's two Grand Tours.
It was a great pleasure to attend the Grand Départ of the 113th edition of the Tour de France in Barcelona on 4 July and the final stage on the Champs-Élysées in Paris three weeks later. Between the opening team time trial through the streets of the Spanish city and the grand finale in the French capital, we witnessed fantastic performances that highlight the best that the sport of cycling has to offer.
On 21 July, seven athletes from the UCI World Cycling Talent programme and two from the IOC Refugee Olympic Team, together representing seven countries across Africa, the Americas, and Asia, had the opportunity to ride the full course of the stage 16 individual time trial ahead of the official start. Watching them ride in such a prestigious environment, one that each of them dreams of competing in someday, was a source of immense pride.
I already look forward to attending the Grand Départ of the 5th edition of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, which will take place this year on 1 August in Lausanne, Switzerland, on the eve of a stage that will start from Aigle, home to the UCI World Cycling Centre (UCI WCC) - our training and development centre - and our headquarters.
On the subject of sporting events, I would also like to recognise this year's edition of the UCI WCC-supported Afghanistan Women's Road Championships, held on 25 and 27 June. The event once again took place within the framework of the 2026 French Elite Road Cycling Championships, organised by the French Cycling Federation (FFC). I would like to thank the FFC for this initiative, which reflects the values of community, respect, and solidarity that our sport embodies. I invite you to take a behind-the-scenes look in the video we published after the event in Les Vals du Dauphiné - La Tour du Pin.
As you know, next year will be marked by the second edition of the UCI Cycling World Championships, which will take place in Haute-Savoie, France, from 24 August to 5 September. Preparations for the event are progressing according to plan, and I was delighted to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the launch of the French candidature with a bike ride on 11 July, alongside the President of the Haute-Savoie Departmental Council Martial Saddier and the President of the FFC's event Organising Committee Michel Callot.
I also had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation from the ΔΕΗ Tour of Hellas to the UCI headquarters, including Mr Takis Xouris, the race's Operations Director. On this occasion, we discussed the development of cycling in Greece and the important role of the Greek race, which is going from strength to strength, and this year coincided with the successful UCI Mobility and Bike City Forum held in Athens.
Finally, I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to Mr Jean Hubert Nkurayija Ishimwe, Mr Oleg Viktorovich Sienko and Mr Dionisie Codreanu on their elections to, respectively, the presidency of the Rwandan Cycling Federation, the Russian Cycling Federation and the Moldovan Cycling Federation. On behalf of the Union Cycliste Internationale, I thank them for their efforts to promote cycling and wish them every success in their roles.

  REMINDER : Instructions for registration of UCI Women’s WorldTeams, UCI Women’s ProTeams, UCI WorldTeams, UCI ProTeams, UCI Continental Teams and UCI Women’s Continental Teams
Instructions for the registration of UCI Women’s WorldTeams, UCI Women’s ProTeams, UCI WorldTeams, and UCI ProTeams applying for registration for the 2027 season have been sent to teams who sent us a request.
The procedure can also be studied in Part II Road Races (chapter 13 for UCI Women’s WorldTeams, 15 for UCI WorldTeams, 16 for UCI ProTeams and 19 for UCI Women’s ProTeams) of the UCI Regulations.
For UCI Continental Teams and UCI Women’s Continental Teams, instructions will be sent to National Federations in August.
This season marks an important step in the way registration requests for UCI Teams are handled: the entire process now takes place through UCI DataRide v2, our new official platform. Designed to simplify your work and streamline exchanges between all stakeholders, it replaces the previous processes that have become obsolete.
REMINDER : Registration of trainee riders
As every year, UCI Road Teams can register trainee riders within their roster for the end of the season, as per articles 2.13.168 (UCI Women’s WorldTeams), 2.19.043 (UCI Women’s ProTeams), 2.15.110bis (UCI WorldTeams), 2.16.033 (UCI ProTeams) and 2.17.008 (UCI Women’s Continental Teams and UCI Continental Teams). The procedure for registering trainee riders will be carried out on the UCI DataRide – Teams platform for the 2026 season.
If you would like to register a trainee but do not know his/her identity yet or would like to have him/her start at a date other than 1 August, it is imperative to inform us by email (road@uci.ch) before or on that date. Please note that any trainee added after the mandatory deadline of 1 August cannot be taken into account.

REMINDER: UCI Sport Directors’ course
The 2026 UCI Sport Directors’ course will take place from 26 to 30 October 2026 at the UCI World Cycling Centre (WCC) in Aigle, Switzerland. All information concerning the course, including how women can apply for a scholarship to attend, is available on the UCI website. Teams that are obliged to employ UCI-certified Sport Directors have been contacted. The deadline to apply is 28 August.
Furthermore, the list of UCI-certified Sport Directors is available on the UCI website, enabling teams to contact Sport Directors who have obtained the UCI certification.
UCI riders’ agent exam
In light of the extension of the Riders' Agents Regulations to cover riders negotiating with or contractually bound to UCI Women's WorldTeams and UCI Women's ProTeams communicated in the Special Newsletter #170, a session of the UCI Riders' Agents Exam will take place on 9 September 2026 at 11am (CET) at the UCI World Cycling Centre in Aigle (Switzerland). REMINDER: Results of 2026 National Road Championships
National Federations are reminded that they must upload the results of their National Championships on the UCI DataRide platform no later than two days after the last day of the event (article 1.2.029 of the UCI Regulations), as well as ensure that the riders’ UCI IDs are correct, failing which no UCI points will be awarded.

UCI Junior Road Nations Cup – Application Guide for Organisers
Regarding events on the 2027 UCI Junior Road Nations Cup calendar, Race Organisers have until 30 July 2026 to submit application files, in French or English (or another language with translation), to the UCI via UCI DataRide v2. This file must include the completed registration form. National Federations then have until 5 August to submit the files.
Outstanding invoices – UCI WorldTour, UCI Women's WorldTour and UCI ProSeries events
The UCI Road Unit has emailed all UCI Women's WorldTeams, UCI Women's ProTeams, UCI WorldTeams and UCI ProTeams regarding outstanding invoices from UCI WorldTour, UCI Women's WorldTour or UCI ProSeries events held up to 30 June 2026. Teams have until 14 August 2026 to report any such invoices via the dedicated form.
2026 UCI Road World Championships (20-27 September 2026)
 The 2026 UCI Road World Championships will take place in Montréal (Canada) from 20 to 27 September. More information about this event is available on the UCI website.

Rider registration
National Federations will be able to register their riders and Team Manager from 1 August 2026 at 12:00 (CET) via the UCI registration platform: UCI DataRide. Riders’ registrations will close on 11 September 2026 at 12:00 (CET). Riders and Team Managers registering on UCI DataRide will automatically be registered in the accreditation system.

REMINDER: Visa application process
All National Federations requiring a visa to travel to or participate in the Championships are requested to submit their application without delay.
All foreign nationals must have an eTA or a visa to enter Canada, depending on their country of origin.
Processing times for visa applications may vary depending on the visa office and time of year. It is recommended that you apply as early as possible before your departure date to ensure receipt of your visa in time for the start of the event.
To support your visa application and facilitate your travel to Montréal, an official invitation letter can be provided. National Federations requiring a letter of invitation are invited to submit their request to visa@montreal2026.org, along with:
- the planned dates of their stay,
- their permanent residential address,
- a copy of the applicant’s passport and
- the applicant’s role.
The letter of invitation will include an event code to be entered in your visa application. However, this code neither guarantees expedited processing nor approval of the application by the competent authorities.
Federations are strongly encouraged to initiate visa applications as early as possible to ensure their participation in the 2026 UCI Road World Championships.

REMINDER: Dedicated support service for National Federations
As part of the 2026 UCI Road World Championships in Montréal, a dedicated support service is proposed for National Federations to help facilitate their stay in the Canadian city.
This service relies on the availability of multilingual volunteers, whose role will be to assist delegations with transport, interactions, and their understanding of certain logistical and cultural matters.
The support includes assistance with orientation across the various event sites, help accessing services, as well as informal translation support during certain day-to-day interactions.
This service will be provided under certain conditions, notably depending on volunteer availability, time slots, and locations, so as to best accommodate the needs of delegations.

REMINDER : team time trial mixed relay support
To support the participation of your athletes in the team time trial - mixed relay on 22 September 2026, the UCI will provide a contribution of up to CHF 5000 to group 1 and 2 affiliated National Federations and of up to CHF 8000 to group 3 and 4 affiliated National Federations. This support is exclusively for this event and reserved exclusively for National Federations already registered for the team time trial – mixed relay. Its payment is conditional upon actual participation in the event.

REMINDER : Support for affiliated National Federations in groups 3 and 4 - UCI Solidarity Programme
We remind you that the UCI Solidarity Programme will support the group 3 and 4 National Federations for a maximum of two representatives per affiliated National Federation to participate in the UCI Congress and the official UCI Gala Dinner, as the last four days of the 2026 UCI Road World Championships.
The UCI will provide accommodation in a twin room at the Centre Sheraton Montréal hotel from 22 to 28 September 2026, as well as breakfasts, dinners and transfers between Montréal airport and the hotel on the scheduled arrival and departure dates.

REMINDER : 2027 UCI Road World Championships – Haute-Savoie, France
The qualification system for the 2027 UCI Road World Championships in Haute-Savoie, France, will be largely based on the qualification system used for the 2026 edition in Montréal.
The qualification system for 2027 will be published on the UCI website following the UCI Management Committee Meeting to be held in Montréal from 20 to 22 September 2026.

 2026 UCI Junior Track World Championships (19-23 August 2026)
The preliminary entry list for the 2026 UCI Junior Track World Championships, taking place in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium, will be published on the UCI website on 29 July 2026. All additional documentation for the competition is also available on the UCI website.
2027 UCI Track International Calendar
National Federations are reminded that the deadline to register Class 1 competitions on the 2027 UCI Track International Calendar is 31 July 2026. After this deadline, only Class 2 competitions will be accepted, under the conditions set out in article 3.8.001 ter of the UCI Regulations.
World records and best performances
As per the latest amendments to the UCI Regulations, coming into force from 1 September 2026, the only special attempts (out-of-competition attempts) for world records and best performances allowed will be the UCI Hour Record presented by Tissot and Best Hour Performances. Moreover, the best hour performance behind derny is no longer a record recognised by the UCI. The checklists published on the UCI website for world records and best performances have been updated accordingly.

2026 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships (26-30 August 2026)
The 2026 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships XCO/XCR/XCC/E-MTB/DHI will take place in Val di Sole, Italy, from 26 to 30 August.
Riders’ registration on the UCI DataRide V2 online platform will be open from 6 to 17 August 2026, 12:00 CET. The platform is available here. Please note that registered riders will be automatically entered into the accreditation system. However, all accreditations for National Federation staff must be requested via the Get Your Event platform and are subject to quotas.

REMINDER: 2026 UCI BMX Racing World Cup: two additional rounds
The UCI has announced two additional rounds for the 2026 UCI BMX Racing World Cup. The series now comprises 10 rounds, with the overall winners being confirmed at round 10 in Sarasota, Florida (USA) on 1 November 2026.
The first four rounds took place in Sarrians (France) and Papendal (Netherlands). The results and standings are available on the UCI website.
The remaining six rounds will be held as follows:
- 5th and 6th rounds: 3 and 4 October, Mentougou, Beijing (China)
- 7th and 8th rounds: 10 and 11 October, Chongli, Zhangjiakou (China)
- 9th and 10th rounds: 31 October and 1 November, Sarasota, Florida (United States).

 Compliance with equipment rules for the upcoming cyclo-cross season
We would like to remind participants that all framesets and wheels used in UCI-sanctioned events must be approved by the UCI, in accordance with article 1.3.001bis of the UCI Regulations. The lists of approved framesets and wheels can be found on the Equipment page of the UCI website.
For the 2026-2027 season, this requirement will be compulsory for all categories at all events on the UCI Cyclo-cross International Calendar. The use of non-approved equipment will result in disqualification or the refusal to start the race.
REMINDER: registration of 2026-2027 UCI Cyclo-cross Teams and UCI Professional Cyclo-cross Teams
The platform for registration of cyclo-cross teams (new UCI DataRide V2 environment) opened on 15 June 2026. The registration deadline is 31 July 2026.
Individual accounts are necessary for people in charge of their teams’ registrations. New cyclo-cross teams still have time to create such an account. Instructions for the registration of 2026-2027 UCI Cyclo-cross Teams are available on this link. Please contact offroad@uci.ch if necessary.
REMINDER 2027-2028 cyclo-cross categories
With the amendment of the UCI cyclo-cross rule published already via this link (see Part V: Cyclo-cross – Rules amendments in force on 01.07.2027), the UCI made official the mandatory organisation of a separate Women Junior race for all class 1 and class 2 events from 2027-2028.
We strongly encourage organisers not already presenting a separate Women Junior race to consider that category for the 2026-2027 season, as it will be mandatory the following season.
The UCI’s Off-Road Department (offroad@uci.ch) can help organisers to include this additional race in their event programme.

The next round of the 2026 UCI Cycle-ball World Cup will take place on 29 August 2026 in Hähnlein, Germany. All information for the competition has been published on the UCI website.
2026 UCI Indoor Cycling World Championships (16-18 October 2026)
The 2026 UCI Indoor Cycling World Championships will take place from 16 to 18 October in Derby, Great Britain. Nations will be able to register for the event from 10 to 24 August on the dedicated Monday.com platform. The link to the platform will be published on the competition page of the UCI website on 10 August at 12:00 CET.
 2026 UCI Cycling Esports World Championships (12 December 2026)
The 2026 UCI Cycling Esports World Championships will take place on 12 December 2026. Due to the current situation in the Middle East, the 2026 edition will be held simultaneously across two hubs: one in Europe and one in North America.
The competition format is currently being developed, and further information will be communicated in due course.
The qualifying semi-finals for the finals will take place online on 2 October 2026. The qualification system for the semi-finals is published on the UCI website.

The UCI Safeguarding Toolkit provides practical guidance on recognising safeguarding risks and responding appropriately and responsibly. It also highlights the importance of documenting concerns and following appropriate reporting procedures.
Building awareness among staff and volunteers helps ensure that concerns are addressed early and responsibly.
 Fair competition depends on everyone playing their part. Reporting suspicious behaviour helps prevent competition manipulation and protects athletes and the sport.
Main rule: Always report suspicious approaches.
If someone asks you to influence a race, share inside information, or participate in betting-related activity, you must report it.
Approaches can happen in person, online, or through third parties. Speaking up helps keep cycling fair and protects you and your teammates.

Four UCI World Cycling Centre athletes crowned National Champions
Four riders from the UCI World Cycling Centre's (WCC) development programmes recently claimed national titles on the road. Nesrine Houili (ALG), Jazilla Mwamikazi (RWA), Jadian Neaves (TTO) and Georgette Vignonfodo (BEN) each topped the podium at their respective National Championships.
Three of the four, Houili, Mwamikazi and Vignonfodo, race for the WCC Team, a UCI Women's Continental Team that gives riders from nations with fewer cycling resources access to racing at a higher level than at home.
