Dear La Côte family and friends,
Welcome to this new dry-stone wall which was built in a St Cergue carpark these last weeks. I love the skill of placing stones of all shapes and sizes together to build a strong and upright wall, without even using any gluing agent such as cement!
In Peter’s letter to the early Christians in Asia Minor, he encourages them to come to Jesus, whom he describes as a living stone, and “like living stones, let yourselves be built into a spiritual house.”
After celebrating Pentecost, the gift of the Holy Spirit, our church calendar now guides us to focus on our Christian life together. As living stones, by God’s grace, we are being built into a welcoming household of faith, to bring blessing, hope and light to others.
Look again at the dry-stone wall. Whatever the size or shape of stone – each has its place. On Sunday we will be exploring how, as “living stones” all of us, with our unique story, are being built into a spiritual house for God’s glory. Everyone is welcome: we’d love to see you.
