Back From the Silence – and Back in the Atlantic

It has been quiet around us for a while — a silence not born from forgetting, but from distance. The Atlantic swallowed us in January, and only now is it slowly releasing us again. Time to share where we’ve been, what we’ve experienced, and where we’re heading next.

Our Atlantic Crossing – A Milestone With Character

In January, we successfully completed our major Atlantic passage. Our route took us:

  • From Horta (home base)
  • Canaries Islands
  • Cape Verde Islands
  • Martinique & Guadeloupe

ENOLA performed beautifully overall. Of course, a demanding ocean passage always brings surprises: repairs, unexpected events, and minor technical failures.

We also faced unusually weak trade winds — not ideal for a vessel of ENOLA’s size — and without a Code 0 or proper downwind sail, we couldn’t always run efficiently before the wind.

Still, ENOLA delivered with confidence: 2,400 nautical miles in 15 days, safe, steady, and without lacking anything essential. I

n Martinique, we said goodbye to Steffen, our club president, who returned to Switzerland — a reminder of how special this journey truly was.

Caribbean Weeks – Guests, Islands & Boat Work

Captain Gregory continued sailing with guests through Bequia, The Grenadines and many other Caribbean gems.

Between turquoise waters and warm winds, there was also work to be done: cleaning, maintenance, repairs, logistics. ENOLA is alive — and a living ship needs care.

New Friends Along the Way – Bonds That Last Beyond the Horizon

One of the greatest gifts of this journey has been the people we’ve met along the way. We have formed so many wonderful and meaningful friendships — the kind that stay with you, even when weeks, months, or sometimes an entire year passes before our wakes cross again.

Sailing friendships are unique: you may lose sight of each other between passages, but never out of mind. And when familiar faces suddenly appear in a foreign harbor — often completely unplanned — it becomes an instant highlight. A reminder that the ocean connects us in ways the land never could.

These friendships are something we deeply cherish, and we wouldn’t want to miss a single one of them.

Current Position – Guadeloupe

ENOLA is currently in Guadeloupe, where Captain Gregory and the crew are preparing her for the next major leg: the return crossing to Horta.

Departure is imminent. The crew is on board, excited and ready. An Atlantic crossing is never routine — always a new chapter.

Summer Program 2026 – Plans That Follow the Wind

We had planned an ambitious northern summer route: Scotland, maybe Norway, and the Caledonian Canal.

But demand decides — and currently, we don’t have enough registrations to safely move ENOLA through the North Atlantic and Irish Sea.

The Caledonian Canal alone would be fully booked three times — but the journey north simply isn’t.

So we made a decision: ENOLA will stay in Horta for the summer. Not a compromise – a great opportunity!

Azores Summer – Whales, Wind & Wild Beauty

In July and August, we’ll explore the Azores with our club members. Weekly programs include:

  • Whale watching
  • Island hopping
  • Offshore sailing
  • Fishing
  • Pure Atlantic nature

We are still very flexible with dates and can arrange weekly programs individually.

Suggested trip: 2 days in Lisbon + 5–6 days on ENOLA

A perfect introduction to offshore sailing — and an unforgettable adventure.

Now It’s Your Turn – Your ENOLA Summer Awaits!

The Azores are one of the Atlantic’s most magical places — and ENOLA is ready to explore them with you.

Whether you want to watch whales, catch fish, breathe offshore air, or simply live with the rhythm of the ocean: Now is the perfect moment to secure your spot!

We are flexible with dates in July and August.
